www.nytimes.com/learning - The New York Times Learning Network is an online current and special events news site for grades 3-12; updated weekdays during the school year

www.un.org - The United Nations website, a global association of governments facilitating cooperation in international law, security, economic development, and social equity

www.FactCheck.org - this is a nonpartisan, nonprofit "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. It monitors the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews and news releases. The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania.

www.globalization101.org - managed by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, serves as an informative space for those interested in learning more about changes in the world

www.imf.org - website of the International Monetary Fund which fosters economic growth through international monetary cooperation and temporary financial assistance

www.thinkfinity.org - is Verizon Foundation's comprehensive program and online portal that provides teachers, students, and parents with easy access to an ever-expanding collection of free educational resources, ranging from low-tech to high-tech

www.economist.com - weekly newspaper focusing on international politics and business news and opinion

www.sacmeq.org/statplanet - StatPlanet includes the latest demographic, education, environment, health and socio-economic indicators as current as possible, for more than 200 countries.

www.loc.gov - The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with a large website to go along with it.  CITVC uses the Global Gateway page because of its in-depth links to global information and international issues.

http://www.daylife.com/topic/Top_News/photos/1/grid - Daylife is a content gatherer from multiple news sources.  It is an excellent visual news site.

http://www.ted.com - Technology, Environment, Design.  TED Talks has the brightest minds in those fields, each given twenty minutes to speak about what it is they do. TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. 

http://www.un.org/esa/population/unpop.htm - The Population Division of the UN monitors and appraises all areas in the field of population; for example, to check out a country's population growth from 1950 to its projected growth in 2050, click here
