Journals - Global Economics of Cotton

Global Nomads Group hosted a two-part PULSE program on the issue of global economics and cotton.

We spoke with Dr. Terry Townsend, Executive Director, International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and Juan Carlos Anglero, CEO of Evenagamba. A Canadian school was also part of this conference. The discussion centered around the issues that face a consumer with the rising price of cotton and how interconnected the world economy is when it comes to cotton production.

"Global prices for cotton have hit record highs this year due to unstable cotton production coupled with increasing consumption. As demand continues to outstrip supply, how will the international production, exchange, and uses of cotton affect both the international relations of our countries and us as individual consumers?"- GNG storyboard
